Bradley Honored for Teaching, Service

Posted on May 31st, 2011

IIHR Research Engineer A. Allen Bradley was recently recognized by the UI College of Engineering for his contributions to education and research. Interim Dean Alec Scranton presented Bradley with the Faculty Excellence Award for Teaching at the college’s Faculty/Staff Recognition ceremony on May 12. Bradley was one of six faculty and staff members who received honors.

Bradley, who is also a professor of civil and environmental engineering, has taught courses across the engineering curriculum, including upper-level courses, required major courses, and engineering core courses. By the second week of classes, he knows the names and faces of students in his classes, an impressive accomplishment considering EPS I has more than 200 students in multiple lecture and lab sections. One student wrote, “Professor Bradley … is genuinely concerned whether students understand the material presented and will take time out of his day to sit down with you and help you.”
