Opportunities in the EFRE lab

We currently have openings for graduate research assistants in our group starting Spring 2018.

Our research group welcomes inquiries from potential graduate students with an interest in applying knowledge of fluid mechanics, applied mathematics and computational skills to solve significant environmental challenges.

Areas of active research in our group include 1) wind energy, 2) river and tidal power and 3) atmospheric boundary layer turbulence in complex landscapes.

If you are interested in joining our group, please email me your CV, with details of your experience and examples of you research, as well as a brief statement summarizing your research interests.

To learn more about opportunities for graduate education at IIHR-Hydroscience and Engineering, see http://www.iihr.uiowa.edu/education/. For information about applying to the Hydraulics and Water Resources or the Sustainable Water Development Focus Areas, see Graduate Studies in Hydraulics and Water Resources. For information about applying to the Thermal/Fluids, see Mechanical Engineering Graduate Programs.

When you apply to the Graduate College, please be sure to mention your interest to join EFRE lab in your statement of interests and email me a copy of your application so I know you are applying to our program.

Various US agencies support graduate research

Although most students and research associates in our group are supported by assistantships, we encourage students to pursue various prestigious fellowships that fit their interests.  Please contact me if you are interested to pursue a fellowship and I will be happy to advise you as you prepare your proposal.
