About the EmCon Conference Series

EmCon PhotoThe EmCon conference series was developed to provide a mechanism that would bring together leading scientists to share their latest research and to interact with others working in the rapidly advancing topic of emerging contaminants in a series of focused, topical, and intimate meetings.

In March 2007, the first conference, EmCon2007, was held in the historic city of York, United Kingdom, with 40 platform and 30 poster presentations and more than 125 attendees from around the world.

Building on the resounding success of the initial conference, Emcon 2009 was convened in August 2009 in Fort Collins, Colo., and EmCon 2011 was convened in August 2011 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Both were attended by a complementary mix of researchers, policymakers, and regulators from universities, industry, national laboratories, and regulatory organizations.

Because of the remarkable success of the previous EmCon conferences and the numerous recent advances made within the topic of emerging contaminants, we invite you to attend EmCon 2014 at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.

This four-day event will focus on the most recent developments and findings concerning the source, occurrence, fate, effects, and analysis of emerging contaminants in the environment, providing an ideal venue for exchange of cutting-edge ideas and information in this rapidly evolving research area.
