Applied Research

  • The IIHR Electronics Shop provides support for faculty, researchers, and students in the area of data acquisition equipment and systems in both basic and applied research. Data acquisition equipment is specified and purchased, or designed and constructed as needed for various research projects. The equipment is set up, maintained, and on-going support is provided for a variety of users both in the laboratory and in the field.

     The IIHR Electronics Shop maintains a large range of data acquisition equipment ranging from the very simple pitot tubes and manometers to the latest technological advances in Particle Image Velocimetry and Acoustic Doppler Velocimetry. The IIHR researchers routinely measure a number of physical elements including; pressure, temperature, position, velocity, force, and sediment concentration.
