| IIHR's
mobile rainfall observatory houses an X-band
vertically
pointing radar (VPR), satellite antenna, and several computers for
controlling the radar and IIHR's 2D
video disdrometer. It is air-conditioned and with storage area for
tools and equipment.
The observatory is used in community-wide filed experiments. Examples include NASA's TRMM/TEFLUN-B in Melbourne, Florida, and CASES-99 in Kansas. More Information For more information about the IIHR mobile rainfall observatory contact Dr. Anton Kruger or Prof. Witold Krajewski. |
