This physical drop shaft model simulates the Tideway Tunnels for the city of London, England. The project included construction of a two-sided baffle drop structure with a removable base section for testing and modification of various outlet configurations, as well as design work for variations of Thames Tunnel Shaft benching, flow combining orifice, and analysis of the baffle shelf deflectors.

Jacob Odgaard has led and participated in a number of diverse and engaged project teams, made up of professionals as well as students.

One of Odgaard’s recent projects was the design and construction of a physical drop shaft model to simulate the Tideway Tunnels for the city of London, England. The project included a two-sided baffle drop structure with a removable base section for testing and modification of various outlet configurations, and design of shaft benching, flow combining orifices, and analysis of the baffle shelf deflectors.
