Water-Sediment Interface

The water-sediment interface is an important component in nutrient dynamics. The main goal is to understand and model principal processes that enhance removal of nutrients.

Figure 1 Shows a flow chart that represents one modeling approach. Starting with a backwater area, we identify the reactions and biological processes to create graphs that show the fluxes of principal processes that increase nutrient removal.
