Woodland Restoration at Old Man’s Timber

Larry Weber says:

“Similar to my professional involvement in river and watershed restoration, I have personal interest in native woodland restoration. This passion began as a small project to restore the woodland around our home, located in a small development just outside of Iowa City, and is continuing at a larger scale at Old Man’s Timber in rural Johnson County. Old Man’s Timber encompasses approximately 100 acres of timber, and comprises both floodplain forest along Old Man’s Creek and upland areas that rise 85 feet in elevation to a small, 3.5-acre, headwater tall grass prairie. I hope to share my experiences of woodland restoration of this magnificent property with those who enjoy a similar passion for woodland restoration at Old Man’s Timber.”

Old Man’s Timber is a special place
for the mind, body, and soul.
