IALLUVIAL Software
The computer program IALLUVIAL2 is the successor to the program IALLUVIAL
developed at the Iowa Institute of Hydraulic Research (IIHR), University of
Iowa. IALLUVIAL was conceived and initially developed in
1982 by the late Professor John F. Kennedy and Dr. Fazle Karim at IIHR.
Subsequent developments of IALLUVIAL , which included both code enhancement
and applications, were carried out at IIHR by Professor Forrest M. Holly,
Dr. Fazle Karim, Dr. J. C. Yang, C. J. Wang, and M.
Spasojevic during the middle and the later half of the 1980's. The PC
version of the original program was implemented in 1995 by Dr. Fazle Karim.
This PC version is now called IALLUVIAL2.
IALLUVIAL2 is a quasi-steady, one-dimensional water and sediment routing
model for short- or long-term simulation of water surface and bed evolution
of alluvial channels. IALLUVIAL2 incorporates several new features and
convenient data input and output to facilitate applications in professional
engineering practice as well as in numerical experimentation and research
for alluvial channel flows.
Please read first the document Iall30.doc included in the program package,
which provides a brief description of background, principal features, documentation,
and input instruction manual for the program.
