| The main objective of this project is to develop new approaches to estimate plausible spatial patterns of flooding for a region using historical rainfall and streamflow data. Widespread, devastating events will be the focus of this project because of their potential aggregate damage. In addition, we will identify the dominant precipitation patterns (footprints) of extreme rainstorms for different climatic regions in the U.S. and model possible large floods for use in the flood aggregation model. | |
