Modeling sediment transport in selected streams in Iowa to gain better understanding of sediment dynamics. The modeling project is conducted by the University of Iowa personnel through a cooperative agreement with the Iowa Geological Survey of the Iowa Department of Natural Rescources. The sediment modeling will be conducted on a two streams in Iowa in order to develop a process to quantify sediment movement in the state. Tentative choices are Walnut Creek and Clear Creek. UI personnel shal attend a national meeting to exchange information with others and to gain first-hand information about sediment transport in natural water bodies. |
