Symposium

Venue

For the first time, the ISSF Symposium will be held in the United States, on the campus of the University of Iowa. The UI College of Engineering provides excellent facilities, including lecture rooms, poster areas, and coffee break areas.

Iowa City is about 200 miles west of Chicago. The weather in May–June is usually very pleasant, with day temperatures around 20° C. Iowa City is served by the Eastern Iowa Airport, which is a 30-minute drive from downtown Iowa City. Direct flights are available to several large airports, including Chicago, Denver, Atlanta, New York, Minneapolis, Cincinnati, and Dallas.

Accommodations

Iowa City offers a wide range of hotel accommodations at a reasonable price (less than $100 per night) and has several relatively new hotels. Suggestions will be given in due time. Additionally, special accommodations for students can be arranged; single dorm rooms will cost approximately $50, and doubles about $35. Please contact us in advance to make arrangements. In addition, the Iowa House hotel on the University of Iowa campus offers rooms at about $90 per night.
