Validation data

Several experimental studies have been completed in the IIHR - Hydroscience & Engineering towing tank.  Below are buttons that link to individual pages that provide a description of the experiment, references, and archived datasets.  A brief table of experimental conditions is also included, however, usually one or more of the references can be downloaded which give a more complete description of the experiment including experimental setup, conditions, data locations, uncertainty assessment procedures, and results.

Flat plate  NACA24  S60 steady  S60 propeller hull

S60 drift  5512 steady  5512 forward speed diff.  5512 pitch and heave

Measurement systems

The IIHR - Hydroscience & Engineering towing tank utilizes a range of different measurement systems for data acquisition for problems of resistance and propulsion, seakeeping, and maneuvering.  Below are buttons for several current measurement systems.  Each button is linked to a page which provides the specifications, history, and use of the measurement system.  Sample data is also presented.

PMM  3DPIV  Motion tracker  Forces and moments

Wave elevations  Wind generator
