The IGS attended, presented, and displayed posters and core from Iowa at the North Central Geological Society of America meeting in Ames, Iowa last week. Pictured is a selection of cores belonging to the IGS which were on display, along with three posters detailing the Decorah Impact Structure, the Manson Impact Structure, and the Midcontinent Riff System.
A field trip to Ledges State Park was also an option prior to the meetings. Phil Kerr, IGS, is shown holding a poster describing the sandstone formations in the area, while UI PhD student, Justin Rosenblume, explains.
