110-2011Everyone loaded up in the bus and the adrenaline started pumping… we were finally going to see the Taj Mahal!!!  We went through security and gathered into the entry courtyard.  As we went through the gateway to the Taj Mahal, it was magical!  The monument was much more beautiful in person than I could have ever imagined!  We just stood in awe for a few minutes and then, like the great tourists we are, started taking hundreds of photos of ourselves and each other in any kind of pose we could think up!  This was the big kahuna of our sightseeing stops!

BEAUTIFUL.

After we had a few hours to take in the glory of the Taj Mahal, we went to lunch.  After lunch we saw our first snake charmer outside with a few different snakes!  We didn’t get to stay long to watch the show, but at least I can cross that off of my bucket list.

The trip to Agra was finally complete and we were heading “home” to our little abode in Gurgaon.  On the way to this weekend getaway we took the train and that is how we decided to get home.  The train station was packed with people from all over and lots to see while we waited.  Our luggage was piled in the middle of our group circle and we each took turns exploring all the station had to offer (since we didn’t have time on our first ride).  The fog delayed the train and a 3.5 hour ride became 6 hours (plus the 1 hour delay spent waiting for the train’s arrival).  Our first ride out to Jaipur was a great train experience but this ride was definitely not as enjoyable…
