TOPAS—Aerosol Particle Size Spectrometer LAP 321

The TOPAS is a laser aerosol particle sizer that can measure the size and mass distribution of particles and calculate how their distribution varies with time. The bin sizes available range from approximately 0.3 to 27 microns, which limits the sizes of particles it can measure.

We typically use this instrument to gather particle size distribution measurements, and with this information calculate mass flux estimates of particulates using spatially resolved backscatter measurements taken via LiDAR.
